环球郎克敏|What are the Most Expensive Cities for Going on a Date?

2019-05-30 13:54:24 编辑:济南环球教育 浏览:(1856次)

Introduction

The reasons why I would like tobring up this topic is actually accidental, because when I was

browsing around on one of the mostcommonly used social media platforms, I came across a rather

intriguing article published byBloomberg based on the data reported by Deutsche Bank.

Accordingly, this article postulatesthe world’s top 10 most expensive cities for going on a date.

Details will be posted in latersection.

This article merits a number ofvalues in both our romantic relationship with our significant others

as well as in the preparation forIELTS test. We can’t escape from developing and maintaining

relationships with others as long aswe are a member of society. Meanwhile, in speaking and writing

tests of IELTS, wouldn’t it befreaking spectacular to show examiners how much a test taker knows

about the world and to build therapport with the examiner by simply employing some down-to

earth and non-escapable topics inresponses? With no further ado, let’s cut into the chase by taking

a peek of the article.

The Result

First and foremost, a note must bemade that couples do have different selections in how to spend

their dates and the cost of suchcould vary tremendously without a doubt. But, in accordance with

this article, activities performedby the love birds in the typical second date constitute cab rides,

dinner or lunch for two at a pub ora diner (though, I view a filling American breakfast could also be

an ideal option for couples), acouple of beers and some soft drinks, and a pair of movie tickets.

Zurich, Switzerland tops all othercities in the world as a date occurring in Zurich costs slightly

above $200 dollars! Exchanging thisamount into RMB, it’s approximated at 1,400 RMB! To put

that into perspective, a typicaloffice worker could earn around 5K RMB a month in my city. Oh

dear Switzerland. Three Scandinaviancities closely follow Zurich ranking from the second to the

fourth (Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, respectively). From a bit over $150 dollars in Helsinki to

$157.8 in Copenhagen in Denmark to almost$170 in Oslo, all of which mercilessly translate into

nothing but pricy dates. Anothercity in northern Europe, Stockholm, also made its appearance on

the top list with a price tag of$132.2 for going on a date. London and Amsterdam would “steal

away” $137.5 and $140.8,respectively, from the love birds’ wallet on a typical date. With all that

being said, 7 out 10 most expensivecities for going on a date are in Europe, mostly scattered around

the Northern European region. Tokyo, standing out from a large number of metropolis in Asia, is the sole city on thelist and

numbered as the 5th most expensivecity for going on a date. Couples would expect an average

night-out expenditure to be $148.3dollars. On the other side of the Pacific Ocean, two US

megacities are nominated and awardedby this article as the most expensive cities for going on

dates: New York (City) and SanFrancisco with their individual cost on a date to be $148.3 and

$137.5, respectively.

Overall, dating someone isn’t a cheapgame to play. Based on the article, spending well above $100

dollars for a couple night outshouldn’t surprise anybody.

The Insights

1. Choosing the right place to travel to in Europe is thekey.

When it comes to culture, history, architecture, and whatnot, Europe is indisputably the best place to

visit (at least in my view). Quitelarge number of people have daydreamed about strolling on the

streets in Copenhagen andexperiencing the good old times depicted in the stories written by Hans

Anderson, or, perhaps even moredifferent, living in Oslo or Stockholm for a prolonged period of

time to observe polar light.

Bringing the love ones to suchamazing activities would be a heck of lifetime memory but, as far as

money is concerned, do those activeshave a higher “bang-for-the-buck”? Are such young couples

financially generously enough toafford those fancy visits (or dates)? If you are sitting in a

financially conservative position orsimply a money-sensitive (i.e.: “cheap”) individual to some

extent, therefore, at current stage, you may reconsider your visit up north in Europe.

Europe is more than up north.Southern Europe is also a fantastic destination for both travelling or

going on a high-stake date. Despiteexemptions (such as Venice), most places in the south of Europe

continent are quite reasonablypriced. Riding a scooter in la calle in Barcelona, grabbing some tapas

later in the night, and dancing inthe clubs near Mediterranean Sea, in my view, are equally freaking

amazing as visiting (or having adate) in the north. Particularly, it’s even more true under enormous

availability of economic jets (likeRyanair) that fly couples from point A to point B quickly and

inexpensively and when budget playsa significant role in consideration.

2. US is probably a better place for love birds

In US, besides NYC and SanFrancisco, couples could easily name dozens of amazing places in the

US. For music fans, Nashville in Tennesseewould be a ‘dream-come-true’ place; For beach lovers,

Florida definitely stands out fromnumerous equally and heavenly amazing places who share similar features asFlorida in the US. For sports fans, like myself, Boston, L.A., Miami, and so onand so

forth, are definitely must-go-toplaces. Watching a game in NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, or other major

sports with your love ones seemslike a better date than watching a movie (sorry, movie fans).

These places aforementioned arestill pricy, but they aren’t anywhere near Zurich or any other

places on the list. Let the bangmade from the buck deafen your eyes!

3. Money can’t get you love, but without it, you can’tget nothing.

I would like to leave this sectionblank for your comments and thoughts. Do you agree with me

concerning this argument? I was aPlatonist and deeply believe that love, in the end, will be

independent from the materialism, will be purely operating on mutual appreciation, and has nothing

to do with money. But, my life sofar and this article, once again prove Platonism perhaps would

only exist in our philosophytextbooks.
